West Hollywood celebrates high court’s rulings on gay marriage

Hollywood: Hey, this Obamacare thing is going to be pretty costly and complicated for us

We can get back in the business of marriage.” West Hollywood Mayor Abbe Land, who is straight, called the day “a wonderful day of true celebration.” She said that in the summer of 2008, when hundreds of lesbian and gay couples married in West Hollywood, it was “one of our most joyous times as elected officials.” West Hollywood Mayor Pro-Tem John D’Amico, who married his husband, Keith Rand, on Aug. 1, 2008, was emotional, speaking slowly to the assembled crowd. “Keith and I met 21 years ago and were married five years ago,'” he said.

Maldonado uses Hollywood killing to raise money

Officials in the movie and television industry say the new laws could prevent them from using the lifelike assault weapons and high-capacity magazines that they have employed in shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and films like The Dark Knight Rises. Twenty-seven film and television projects, including programs like Blue Bloods and Person of Interest, are now in production in New York State using assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, according to the Motion Picture Association of America. Industry workers say that they need to use real weapons for verisimilitude, that it would be impractical to try to manufacture fake weapons that could fire blanks, and that the entertainment industry should not be penalized accidentally by a law intended as a response to mass shootings. Well, we certainly wouldnt want any law-abiding citizens with no intent to kill anyone penalized accidentally by a law intended as a response to mass shootings. So, in New York, you have the ludicrous display of the industry responsible for more gun porn than the entire NRA, whose big players happily smear the rest of the countrys law-abiding gun owners as murderers, asking for an exception to the rule many of them lobbied for so they can continue to make gun porn. I expect to see the same on Obamacare. A bunch of good-looking, rich people to whom backing Obamacare gives a thrill of moral superiority will tell the rest of us we should embrace the law because its good, you see. Then, all their production companies will find exceptions to the law because they dont want to be accidentally penalized by a law intended to help the little people.

Abel Maldonado, championing a ballot initiative to roll back Gov. Jerry Brown’s prison realignment program, on Thursday circulated material asking for money to “stand against Brown and his dangerous policies.” The solicitation cites the alleged killer of Christine Calderon, stabbed to death June 18 after she refused to pay a group of homeless men for a photograph she had snapped of them. “Just last week Dustin James Kinnear, who was released early under AB109, stabbed and killed an innocent woman in Hollywood,” Maldonado’s missive states. Kinnear, Calderon’s accused killer, was not released from prison early.

Eddie’s gimp leg is not because he pulled a hamstring muscle (far from it). But it’s not until Dixie staggers in and we see, first, Eddie’s reaction to her and then Moe’s reaction to Eddie’s reaction that we realize that what we thought we saw is not what we’re really seeing. Either way, football and warfare look a lot different from the stands than when you’re down on the field. Way different.
